This is the first issue of the Russian popular-science illustrated magazine «World of Stones».

The new edition is addressed to mineralogists, collectors, simply to those, who are fond of stones. We shall tell you about deposits and mineralogical sites of Russia and other countries as well as about the new finds and discoveries. With the help of our authors and photographers you will visit the old mines, working pits and museums, you will see collections, gathered by numerous generations of scientists-mineralogists and cutters.

We shall acquaint you with scientists, collectors, keen on minerals. On the pages of the magazine documents, diaries, recollections and other contributions, concerned with the history of mineralogy and cutting will find their place.

The special aim of the magazine is to give our readers the possibility to replenish continually their knowledge, to expand their outlook, to disseminate information about current events:
