In our quest to understand the complete story of gemstones we look internally to fully appreciate their external beauty. We've set up a new gallery to exhibit the educational and fascinating inclusions that aid us in our work. All the gemstones photographed have passed through Pala's hands in the past year. The photos were taken in an effort to learn and appreciate the gems that we see every day.

Bacanora Minerals Ltd. (Bacanora), a Calgary based capital pool company, has agreed to acquire all the shares of Mineramex Limited, which indirectly owns the Magdalena and Tubutama Concessions, as a Qualifying Transaction as defined by the TSX Venture Exchange (the Exchange or TSX-V). MineTech International Limited (MineTech) was commissioned by Bacanora to conduct an independent review of the Magdalena and Tubutama Concessions to meet the TSX-V requirements for the purchase of these Concessions from Mineramex. The Concessions are held by two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Mineramex - Minerales Industriales Tubutama, S.A. de C.V. (MIT), which owns the Tubutama Concessions, and Minera Sonora Borax, S.A. de C.V. (MSB), which owns the Magdalena Concessions. In 2008, the Magdalena Concessions were acquired from Minera Santa Margarita S.A. de C.V. (MSM), a Mexico registered subsidiary of Rio Tinto Group.<...>

Indicator minerals are mineral species that, when appearing as transported grains in clastic sediments, indicate the presence in bedrock of a specific type of mineralization, hydrothermal alteration or lithology. Their physical and chemical characteristics, including a relatively high density, facilitate their preservation and identification and allow them to be readily recovered at the parts per billion level from sample media such as till, stream sediments or soil producing large exploration targets.
