В обзоре обобщен опыт проведения рекультивацион-ных работ на открытых разработках месторождений в СССР и за рубежом. Приводятся характеристики существующих этапов рекультивации, а также результаты научно-исследовательских работ в области рекультивации земель.
Приведенные результаты расчетов по определению сроков окупаемости затрат на рекультивацию показывают, что проведение рекультивации земель, нарушенных открытыми горными работами, во многих случаях экономически оправдано.

In the present study a new classification method for the assessment of ease of excavation of rock masses is proposed, based on the Geological Strength Index and the point load strength of the intact rock. The data originate from excavation sites in Greece in sedimentary and metamorphic rock masses. A wide variety of rock structures were considered, ranging from blocky to disintegrated, and different excavation methods have been used (blasting, hydraulic breaking, ripping and digging). Slope monitoring radar has emerged in the last ten years as a leading edge tool for monitoring movements in open pit mines, thanks to the ability to rapidly measure wall movements with millimetric accuracy over wide areas in any weather conditions. IBIS-M is an innovative interferometric radar able to provide high spatial resolution, long working distances and fast acquisition time. The first IBIS-M unit deployed in Turkey was installed in 2011 at the large lignite open pit Çöllolar Mine operated by Park Teknik. The geotechnical staff has now 24/7 real time monitoring of the slope stability with a wide coverage on the pit walls with the capability to detect the onset of wall movements far before the occurrence of failure, thus increasing the safety standards and productivity of the mine. Mining activity monitoring, volume calculations, data for information systems of mining companies, decision making and planning, reclamation proposals are some of the most important fields, where photogrammetry can be used in open pit mining. Nowadays mostly digital methods find their utility in providing stereoscopic digitisation of a current situation of mining, precise orthophotos and digital terrain models. There are requirements for high precision especially in heights due to volume calculations and therefore high-resolution aerial images with low flight altitude are taken for the open pit mining purposes.
