Добрый день, Коллеги. Важное сообщение, просьба принять участие. Музей Ферсмана ищет помощь для реставрационных работ в помещении. Подробности по ссылке
Databases of mineral deposits and occurrences are essential to conducting assessments of undiscovered mineral resources (Singer, 1993). In the USGS’s (U.S. Geological Survey) global assessment of undiscovered resources of copper, potash, and the platinum-group elements (PGE), only a few mineral deposit types will be evaluated. For example, only porphyry-copper and sediment-hosted copper deposits will be considered for the copper assessment.
The platinum-group minerals (PGM) are a diverse group of minerals that concentrate the platinum-group elements (PGE; Os, Ir, Ru, Rh, Pt, and Pd). At the time of writing, the International Mineralogical Association database includes 135 named discrete PGM phases. Much of our knowledge of the variety and the distribution of these minerals in natural systems comes from ore deposits associated with mafic and ultramafic rocks and their derivatives (see also Barnes and Ripley 2016, this volume).
This guidebook is dedicated to ultramafic-mafic intrusions, volcanic rocks and the world-class PGE-Cu-Ni sulfide deposits of the Noril’sk Province, Polar Siberia. The characteristics of geology, mineralogy and geochemistry of volcanic rocks and ore-bearing ultramafic-mafic intrusions are briefly outlined. The proposed excursion stops include inspection of the different volcanic and intrusive rocks, associated PGE-Cu-Ni sulfide ores from drill cores and bedrock outcrops. In addition, an open pit Medvezhy Ruchei and two mines (Oktyabrsky and Taimyrsky) collectively provide an overview of the Noril’sk-type intrusions and associated disseminated and massive PGE-Cu-Ni sulfide ores.

This book describes extraction of nickel, cobalt and platinum-group metals. The starting point is ore-in-place and the finishing point is high-purity metals and chemicals. We have combined the description of these metals in one book because they very often occur together, are extracted together and have similar properties. The objectives of the book are to:
(a) describe how these metals occur and are extracted; (b) explain why these extraction processes have been chosen; (c) indicate how the processes can be operated most efficiently, with minimal impact on the environment; and, (d) suggest future improvements.
The geology, tectonics and stratigraphy of the Monchegorsk region (Kola Peninsula, Russia) is briefly described in the guidebook. The geological structure, ore localization and mineralogy of Cu-Ni-PGE and Cr occurrences in the major layered intrusions (Monchepluton, Imandra lopolith, Monchetundra intrusion) are presented in more detail.
Volume 2 of the ‘Flotation Reagents Handbook’ is a continuation of Volume 1, and presents fundamental and practical knowledge on flotation of gold, platinum group minerals and the major oxide minerals, as well as rare earths.
