The Association exists to promote the study of sedi-mentology and the interchange of research, particularly where international cooperation is desirable. Members of the Association receive the journal Sedimentology and news circulars and are entitled to a reduction of fees at meetings sponsored by the Association. Members are also entitled to a reduction of costs of the Special Publications of the Association. Persons wishing to become members should ask for membership application forms from the Treasurer of the IAS, Dr I. Cojan, Ecole des Mines de Paris, CGES-Sedimentologie, 35, rue St-Honore, 77305 Fontainebleau cedex, France. Membership annual dues are 180 fr. ($34) for full members and 90 fr. ($17) for student members. Please do not make any payments yet. You will receive an application form and dues statement with payment instructions upon request.
