Сборник представляет собой сводку многолетних поисковых и геолого-разведочных работ Научного института по удобрениям и инсектофунгисидам по фосфоритам Московской области.

В работе рассмотрены возможные изменения химического состава гидросферы от начальных до современных этапов ее существования. Доказывается, что эти изменения носили направленный необратимый характер. Рассмотрена эволюция литосферы, атмосферы и биосферы как факторов химической эволюции гидросферы. Особое внимание уделено круговороту солей в природе, а также галогеиезу, поскольку состав соленосных отложений и парагенетически связанных с ними рассолов дает надежную информацию о химических типах некогда существовавших морей. Доказывается, что в истории соленакоплеиия происходили не только изменения интенсивности солеобразования, но и направленные изменения вещественного состава соленосных отложений.

Geophysical techniques have many environmental, archaeological, forensic, geological, geotechnical, or engineering applications, as well as in the oil and gas, the mining industry, or for general academic research. Because of this, all the aspects connected with the logistics, designing, data collection, analysis, interpretation, and visualization, must be evaluated on a case-by case basis.

Studies on tetrabranchiate cephalopods have added much data to our understanding of the patterns and modes of evolution as displayed by fossil animals. Few invertebrate phyla show such marked periods of expansion in evolutionary intensity contrasted with periods of extreme contraction to the point of near extinction. Given the unprecedented growth of human population over the past century, as well as the related increase in demand for and production of natural resources, it is evident that understanding the nature, origin and distribution of the world’s mineral deposits remains a strategic topic. The discipline of “economic geology,” which covers all aspects pertaining to the description and understanding of mineral resources, is, therefore, one which traditionally has been, and should remain, a core component of the university earth science curriculum. It is also the discipline that underpins the training of professional earth scientists working in the minerals and related industries of the world. A tendency in the past has been to treat economic geology as a vocational topic and to provide instruction only to those individuals who wished to specialize in the discipline or to follow a career in the minerals industry. In more recent years, changes in earth science curricula have resulted in a trend, at least in a good many parts of the world, in which economic geology has been sidelined <...>

In a broad sense, what one attempts to do in rock engineering is to anticipate the motion of a proposed structure under a set of given conditions. The main design objective is to calculate displacements, and as a practical matter, to see whether the displacements are acceptable. Very often restrictions on displacements are implied rather than stated outright. 'A good collection of well-arranged trilobites looks better in the cabinet than perhaps any other fossils', wrote J.E. Taylor in Our Common British Fossils, published in 1885. Such is their popular appeal that trilobites have always been some of the most eagerly sought after of all fossils. Their name, suggested by their singular three-lobed appearance is derived from 'Trilobitae', introduced by the German naturalist Johann Walch in 1771 in his Der Naturgeschichte der Versteinerungen ('Natural History of Petrefactions'). The study of trilobites has particularly long associations with Wales, and the ancient rocks which crop out over much of the Principality have been well known as a rich source of them for nearly 300 years. This article outlines some of the history of their investigation in the area, describes their occurrence there, and discusses aspects of their nomenclature and morphology which are well illustrated by Welsh examples. <...>

Вперше для цього регіону наведено монографічний опис понад 120 видiв стратиграфічно найважливiших груп викопних організмів: амонітів, белемнітів, двостулкових та черевоногих молюсків. Результати вивчення фауни дозволили встановити вік нижньокрейдових вiдкладів, деталізувати їх розчленування (для апта й альба - зональне) та провести регіональну кореляцiю розрізiв.
