The percentage composition of the subject matter of this revised edition is approximately the same as that for the first, but the number of chapters has increased significantly. This necessitated the publication of a companion volume. In addition to dealing with various geophysical exploration methods, it adds and emphasizes the use of radiometric methods to explore for hard minerals found in sediments on and beneath the ocean floor.

В настоящей сборнике представлены материалы конференции, посвященной юбилею учебной геолого-геоморфологической практики в Чашниково (Московская область, Солнечногорский район). На этой практике преподаватели кафедры динамической геологии геологического факультета МГУ имени М.В. Ломоносова в течение 40 лет обучают студентов I курса факультета почвоведения.

В результате целенаправленного изучения особенностей пространственного размещения,строения,геологического содержания и возраста стабилизации палеозойских офиолитовых структур Казахской складчатой области установлен межплитный характер их формирования, геологическое развитие которых происходили согласно положениям тектоники литосферных плит,проявленной, однако, в региональных масштабах.
